International experience has provided me with a diverse background in art, education, and mindfulness and a unique perspective in my work. The themes I explore, such as nature, spirituality, and politics, cross over and resonate with each other in spite of their supposed contraditictions. Mixed media art is an ideal way to express complex ideas and emotions, allowing for a rich, layered experience in my artwork and mindfulness-through-art programs.
In the studio, I often look for unusual combinations of materials and images to make meaning. It is the things that don’t belong together that sometimes make the most sense. Likewise, in my mindfulness workshops, it is often the forgotten fragments that call for attention and offer insight.
