Deborah Coffey is a contemporary artist based in Washington, DC. Her work is inspired by Conceptual Art and Surrealism. Her ideas come from impressions in nature, the social and political environment and a passion for experimenting with materials and tools. Deborah plays with contradictions and combinations in her work and delights in the sense of mystery, humor and wonder that emerge. Something she says is "A sign that reads, 'This Is Not a Good Sign', is probably one of the better signs around."
